KVM-based Cloud Computing
KVM (Kernel-based Virtual Machine) is the leading open source virtualization platform for Linux.
KVM enables the virtualising of machines with minimal overhead and without the need for modified guest images. KVM also provides various ways of viewing the console, for example through VNC or SPICE.
M:Tier has extensive experience in migrating (parts of) an infrastructure to a virtualised platform such as KVM and our Engineers maintain various virtualisation tools in OpenBSD such as the SPICE stack and libvirt.
When combining the ease and power of KVM with Puppet you can manage the entire lifecycle of your KVM instances from Puppet. This allows you to update your Puppet configuration and the Puppet will create, install and provision the new KVM guest in a matter of minutes.
